![]() It is in good solid condition, but it does have some cosmetic damage, scrapes, dents and you will notice from one of the photographs of the neck there appears to be a crack. It has a cedar top with mahogany back and sides and a rosewood fingerboard. ![]() I bought this instrument from Spain 14 years ago, it is made by Alhambra and the model number is 3c. The string ends on Laud strings are just little loops so if fitting with a set of guitar 12 strings just pop out the the little ring ferrules on the strings, this will leave a little loop to attach to the Laud bridge. In order to achieve this you have to bare in mind that the neck is shorter than a guitar, so if you tuned it EADGBE like an ordinary guitar the strings would be very loose, so the shorter neck is compensated for by tuning it ADGCEA, this way its just like playing a guitar with a capo on the 5th fret, so to put it simply just fit it with the thinnest set of twelve strings you can buy and tune it ADGCEA and you can play all your guitar music without relearning the fingering. I personally like to play it as though its a 12 string guitar, so in other words if you can play the ordinary guitar you can play this. For sale here is a 12 string Spanish folk instrument called a Laud but also known as a Spanish lute, it measures 85cm in length. It is traditionally tuned G# C# F# B E A and the Cuban tuning is as follows D, A, E, B, F#, C# (or D).
